Description:
Based on the MBCT curriculum, this workshop series will invite participants to learn about and practice training the three A’s of mindfulness: Attention, Awareness, and Acceptance. We will work with sitting, walking, standing, and moving mindfulness meditation practices. In addition, there will be an exploration of how to integrate mindfulness into daily life. This program also includes a significant cognitive exploration to help transform patterns of thinking that are common in depression and anxiety such as self-judgment, excess guilt, worrying, catastrophizing etc. Participants will have an opportunity to practice these skills at home and then bring their questions and discoveries to the group for discussion. There will also be a practical exploration of hindrances and challenges in practice as well as how to overcome them.
Cost:
This workshop is covered by OHIP for Ontario residents with a valid OHIP card. A manual will need to be purchased separately to support you during the program and is available on a sliding scale basis.
